And you guessed it right - VAM is the acronym of Vadim's
name, so lets rather stick to it hereinafter.
It is worth noting that Vam's biography contains some
amazingly coincidental similarities to that of the former Russian
Premier Fradkov. Being in their late fifties, both are graduates of the
prestigious business school - the USSR Academy of Foreign Trade. For
both, professional careers started in India and with the same employer. And
after the Indian start up both embarked on careers at "Vneshtorg"- the
ex USSR Foreign Trade Administration, and a pretty privileged segment
of the Soviet Establishment where both made their careers.
Though in his track record Vam cannot boast a ministerial
post, his career growth to the position of Deputy Head of the
International Department of the Russian Chamber of Commerce was quite
an achievement taking into account that all along Vam did it "his way"
and without any "pull" normally required to make a career in those days.
Combined with his educational background Vam's
professional career provided him with deep insight of the Russian
business life with its specific "rules of the game" on one hand, and on
the other gave him a rare opportunity to travel and work abroad. All
this enabled Vam to observe and grasp the differences between the local
Russian and Western business mentality, values and practicies and thus
generate unique cross cultural knowledge, skills and abilities.
It is this cross cultural knowledge and ability that Vam
considers his strongest point and biggest professional asset which he
is always ready to share with interested partners and associates.
