- Vam (right) inspecting performance of a Russian jumbo drill in Zambia, 1997

This type of machinery could be a star performer at all Southern African open cast mines reducing costs drastically but the Business Development strategy of the Russian supplier was a disaster.

It took Vam two long years in South Africa  to sort out things, win a complex litigation case and reinstate the Russian manufacturer's ownership over the equipment.

A very sad but an educative example

of cross -cultural mismatch in a Russia related business project and a text book lesson for all Russian machinery exporters ( which they seem very reluctant  to learn so far... ).
